Polished in Culottes: Culottes & Bow Tie Blouse

Culottes are back (trending since last year) and you see them everywhere. I just love them, especially this pair from ASOS (On sale here). The fabric is super soft and flowy. My husband used to call my older pair of these short trousers, my ‘pirate’ pants. (They were more casual and made of stretchy type of black fabric.) Did you know that ‘culottes’ is a word that originated from the French language, and referred to the knee-breeches worn by gentlemen in the nineteenth century? For a simple office look with a touch of that feminine vibe, I paired my culottes with bow-tie blouse and beige ankle strap heels.
