Birthday Jumpsuit: Navy Jumpsuit & Heels + Woven Clutch

Last week was my birthday and let me tell you, I had a wonderful time. (Special thanks to my husband, family and friends). We went out and tried two new restaurants (a Japanese ramen place) and this pretty little cupcake bakery called “Sugar Mama’s” which has a variety of cupcakes, and desserts, oh and by the way-they won ‘Cupcake Wars’ my favorite was their blackberry lemonade. (See pictures below my husband and me at Sugar Mama’s Bake Shop). All the scenery you see in the background is the State Capitol in Austin, TX. The building of my old job is close to the State Capitol (across the street) and I would walk there in the afternoon and enjoy feeding squirrels during my lunch break. The day we went there, was very hot and humid, however I survived! Thanks to this jumpsuit from LuLu*s. It is so lightweight and breathable. I’m so in love with it! It does have pockets (♥) and I am especially partial to the zipper in front which allows you to lower the neckline of the jumpsuit as you please. Have a great week everyone!

Summer Black & White: Crêpe Top & Patterned Shorts

You always see colors everywhere when summer comes around. I will go against what you think of when you consider “summery attire” for a bit in this outfit post. I re-styled this white and black sleeveless blouse, and these patterned shorts in black & white for a more casual look (last seen here Retro Vibe and Short & Sweet). I really love this top as it is airy, and cool (I mean it literally feels so cool like you have a personal air-conditioner with you the whole time). Hope you guys have a fun summer so far!!

Pretty Plaid: Plaid Shirt & Midi Skirt

I wore this outfit last Friday. I was fully supporting casual Friday, but did not feel like wearing jeans (by the way, where my husband and I work we can wear jeans every day). Solution- Dressing up my plaid shirt with this midi skirt (Last seen here Ladylike Details). This shirt speaks casual to me, while this skirt is very comfortable, so they were perfect for my casual Friday. Most importantly this skirt has pockets…I’m obsessed with skirts or dresses with pockets! If you are short like me (5’2”) we have to be careful with the mid calf length, because its cut can shorten our frame and make us look weird. Thus, I completed the outfit with beige ankle-strap heels.  Here is a great tip, if you ever want to instantly elongate your frame wear shoes in your own “nude” skin tone. This will draw attention up not down and make your legs look much longer. This skirt is fitting better this time around as my husband and I, have been trying to eat better and workout everyday (Although some weekends we forget-I mean hey, something is better than nothing, right?). However this weekend we are going to indulge a bit for my birthday week. Last month, we discovered this hole in a wall restaurant called Kin & Comfort  and we’ve been hooked ever since.  If you are ever in Austin Texas and want some killer Asian fusion food, you must and I mean ‘must’ try Kin and Comfort. They combine classic Thai dishes with American comfort food in each dish in a super cool, sophisticated, and delicious way-The result is dynamite! It seems like every time we finish a photo shoot we end up at their door…and 3-4 dishes later it’s a nap time!
