Culottes are back (trending since last year) and you see them everywhere. I
just love them, especially this pair from ASOS (On sale here). The fabric is super soft and
flowy. My husband used to call my older pair of these short trousers, my ‘pirate’
pants. (They were more casual and made of stretchy type of black fabric.) Did
you know that ‘culottes’ is a word that originated from the French language,
and referred to the knee-breeches worn by gentlemen in the nineteenth century? For a simple office look with a touch of that feminine vibe, I
paired my culottes with bow-tie blouse and beige ankle strap heels. For a
modern executive look try pairing them with a blazer, or jacket and finishing the look with pumps. Have a great
rest of the week everyone and let me know what your new favorite trends are!
Last week
was my birthday and let me tell you, I had a wonderful time. (Special thanks to
my husband, family and friends). We went out and tried two new restaurants (a Japanese
ramen place) and this pretty little cupcake bakery called “Sugar Mama’s” which
has a variety of cupcakes, and desserts, oh and by the way-they won ‘Cupcake
Wars’ my favorite was their blackberry lemonade. (See pictures below my husband
and me at Sugar Mama’s Bake Shop). All the scenery you see in the background is
the State Capitol in Austin, TX. The building of my old job is close to the State
Capitol (across the street) and I would walk there in the afternoon and enjoy
feeding squirrels during my lunch break. The day we went there, was very hot and
humid, however I survived! Thanks to this jumpsuit from LuLu*s.
It is so lightweight and breathable. I’m so in love with it! It does have
pockets (♥) and I am especially partial to the zipper in front which
allows you to lower the neckline of the jumpsuit as you please. Have a great
week everyone!

You always see
colors everywhere when summer comes around. I will go against what you think of
when you consider “summery attire” for a bit in this outfit post. I re-styled
this white and black sleeveless blouse, and these patterned shorts in black
& white for a more casual look (last seen here Retro Vibe and Short & Sweet). I really love
this top as it is airy, and cool (I mean it literally feels so cool like you
have a personal air-conditioner with you the whole time). Hope you guys have a fun summer so far!!
